Ōnamazu

300.00

Inspired by imaginary creatures and generated through custom algorithms, this artwork is part of the CR3ATURES series. A particles simulation interacts with a force fields defined in relation to a potential outcome. Then after a series of steps the final image is extracted and it is ready to go though the printing process. This is performed with the aid of a CNC drawing machine that scratches the surface of an oil pastel ground applied to a paper sheet. High quality, durable pastels and paper are used to guarantee optimal conservation.

Given the nature of the plotting process every piece is unique.

The print is sold unframed and packaged in a cardboard tube for protection.

-Ōnamazu- Oil pastel on paper, A2 . "In Japanese mythology, the Namazu(鯰) or Ōnamazu(大鯰) is a giant catfish who causes earthquakes. He lives in the mud under the islands of Japan, and is guarded by the god Kashima who restrains the catfish with a stone. When Kashima lets his guard fall, Ōnamazu thrashes about, causing violent earthquakes." . Generated using digital force fields simulation and then scratched on an old pastel base. . . . #contemporaryart #generativeart #onamazu #igdaily #igart #emergingartist #generative #japanesemythology #bigfish #artoftheday #spatialmatters #oilpastel #dailyart #scratching #parametricdesign #catfish #programming #creative #abstractart #illustrationart #pendrawing #codeart #artonpaper #printmakingart #linedrawing #axidraw #proceduralart #sennelier
