Spatial Matters is a generative art project by Nicola Lorusso.
Architect, computational designer and creative artist, he’s engaged with the cross-fertilisation between the fields of design, music and coding.
Trained and active as an architect in London he founded Spatial Matters in 2018 with the aim to bring to life his artistic research. His passion for music and computational design led him to develop this art project as a natural continuation of his design research. He’s fascinated by the physical interactions between matter and forces and his work aim to make visible the hidden reactions between objects. His artworks directly respond to the surrounding environment and use everyday experiences as data sets for his generative algorithms.
Among other lines of investigation he’s currently working on sound-driven drawing algorithms and cloth-like simulations.
For his artworks he uses archival ink on acid-free illustration paper and a high precision CNC drawing machine. All drawings comes signed by the artist. The frame is not included in the price.
